Which is the Best Tasting Protein Powder?

It seems like every day there's a new protein powder on the market (yes, we are partially to blame for that with our Pure WPI), and it can become confusing not only to select a product, but now deciding on a flavour is just as difficult!

There are hundreds of protein products in our store alone, and multiple flavours of each product, so which is best? Luckily we've tried most of them so we can give you our opinions. Here (in no particular order) are our choices for best tasting protein powders. And keep in mind, we are only judging on flavour - nothing else!

Gaspari Myofusion Elite
Best flavour: Peanut Butter Cookie Dough

Mr Gaspari has been known for years to produce some of the best tasting protein powders out there, with the original Myofusion Hydro one of the most loved and greatest tasting proteins ever. The new Myofusion Elite is also delicious, with that standard Gaspari creamy texture we've all come to know and love. They're all good, but Peanut Butter Cookie Dough is great.

Dymatize Elite XT
Best flavour: Blueberry Muffin

This isn't one that you'd expect on the list, but we couldn't skip it. We've tried most of the Elite XT flavours, and while they're all good, the Blueberry Muffin is so unique (and delicious). It tastes exactly like blueberry muffin batter (you know that stuff that's leftover in the bowl that you lick off your hands when you're making muffins?), which I find delicious, others might not think so. Either way, you need to try it and decide for yourself.

MusclePharm Combat Powder
Best flavour: Cookies ‘n' Cream

Part of the reason MusclePharm is growing to be one of the largest nutritional companies in the world is because of the amazing flavours they deliver. Across the board in their pre-workouts, proteins, amino products etc., MusclePharm create excellent products that taste delicious.

Combat Powder Cookies ‘n' Cream - what can we say? It's sweet (some say too sweet, I say perfect) and you can taste the cookie bits in every shake. Think of it as Oreos blended with milk and love.

Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex Gainer
Best flavour: Chocolate

Optimum's flavours are generally excellent, and Pro Complex Gainer is no different. You definitely need to try the Chocolate flavour; one customer described it as ‘liquid f'n mudcake'. Enough said.

Isatori Eat-Smart
Best flavour: Chocolate Chocolate Chip

This meal replacement just oozes amazing chocolate deliciousness, and it's one of those products that tastes so good you don't really care what's in it (fortunately the ingredients are actually pretty good!). It's dangerous to use this as a meal replacement, because a week or two in, you'll probably be replacing every meal with this, it's that tasty. Double Vanilla Ice Cream flavour is awesome, but Chocolate Chocolate Chip is even better (if that's possible).

Protein King Pure WPI
Best flavour: Mango Smoothie

Come on, you didn't expect us to leave this out of our favourites, did you? We hand-selected the 11 flavours we have on offer, so they all passed our taste tests. This is the perfect choice for anyone who thinks that Combat Powder or Myofusion are too sweet (a lot of people think so!) - Pure WPI flavours are subtle but very tasty. Of course, all the flavours on offer are great, but the Mango Smoothie even surprised us with how flavoursome it is - almost like a liquid Weis bar J

So... Which one?

Ok, we could probably continue this list for ever - there's a new amazing-tasting product coming out every day. Hopefully narrowing the hundreds of products out there to our favourite six has helped you, but you still have a tough choice. To make it easier, decide what kind of protein you're after. On our list we just happen to have two meal replacement proteins (Elite XT, Eat-Smart), two all-round proteins (Combat Powder, Myofusion Elite), one weight gainer (Pro Complex Gainer) and one WPI (Pure WPI). At least you know whatever your needs are, there's a delicious protein to match them.
