Max’s Superwhey Review

In March 2014, the hugely popular Max’s protein range was completely revamped as part of their ‘Back in Black’ campaign. All your favourite products – whether a weight gainer, lean protein, WPI or whey blend has been reformulated and repackaged. No longer do Max’s proteins come in the black plastic tubs they’ve been known for using for many years – they’re now all in boxes similar to the Supershred and Superwhey products. Not only has the packaging undergone extensive redesign, but most of the products have too – and we think they’re going to be more popular than ever.

Superwhey is one of the best-selling whey protein blends in Australia, being a simple combination of whey protein concentrate, whey isolate and hydrolysed whey isolate. Superwhey is the ‘all-rounder’ of the Max’s range, suitable for practically anyone at any time, particularly around workouts. Superwhey is a powerful muscle-builder, high in amino acids and particularly leucine.

Max’s Superwhey Key Ingredients

  • Whey Protein Concentrate – The first ingredient in Max’s Superwhey is whey protein concentrate, universally recognised as an excellent protein source derived from milk. Whey concentrate is what remains after the first stage of milk processing – still high in vital growth fractions.
  • Whey Protein Isolate – Max’s high-leucine WPI is the next ingredient in Superwhey, and represents the next stage of the protein process, where the whey concentrate is purified further to remove the majority of fat and lactose. This results in a higher protein content, rich in amino acids, and particularly BCAA’s.
  • Hydrolysed Whey Protein Isolate – Hydrolysis is a process where certain enzymes are added to the whey isolate – these enzymes break down the protein bonds into smaller chains where they can be quickly absorbed and utilised within the body. Hydrolysed proteins are the fastest-digesting proteins you can buy, and deliver nutrients immediately to muscles.

Max’s Superwhey Flavours & Sizes

The new Max’s Superwhey comes in a 1kg and 3kg box, in Banana and Choc Blitz flavours.

Max’s Superwhey Dosage

Each serve of Max’s Superwhey is 50g, which delivers 40g of protein from the whey blend. Superwhey is 79.1% protein, which is very good for a protein blend, and one serve pre and post-workout is enough to stimulate muscle growth in almost anybody.

Why we like Max’s Superwhey

  • High quality whey blend
  • Added vitamins and minerals
  • No aspartame

Conclusion

The new Max’s Superwhey is a great whey protein blend designed to deliver high quality amino acids quickly and effectively to muscles. With around 80% protein from a WPC/WPI/HWPI blend, Superwhey is an excellent all-round protein to use anytime to help stimulate protein synthesis and speed your recovery.
